Board Your Yacht and Head to Cuba

The U.S. and Cuba have made up. They patched up their problems from 50 years ago and want to start fresh. Legislation needs to happen to eliminate some of the embargos that exist, but the two governments are working to make sea travel available. Yachts are headed to Cuban waters.

Advertising agencies must be salivating about the future opportunity to market Cuban travel and eventually Cuban tourism. There hasn’t been a new travel destination to market since Mars, and the number of people interested and able to afford Mars is so limited! On the other hand, Cuba has a terrific climate and because it has been closed off from trade for so many years, it is a destination from days gone by. It is appealing to many.

Cuba can become known for so much more than cigars. It has great waters that will be enjoyed by yacht travel. Even bigger, Cuba has a great opportunity to market itself to the world. The Cuban brand campaign will be an interesting one to watch unfold. The country can position itself on many different levels. Will it target only the ultra-rich or will it target audiences of all demographics? It will be an exciting campaign.
