Congratulations, iPhone users! You can now customize to your liking your Facebook News Feed even more. As part of Facebook's continued efforts to make the News Feed content relevant, the social media giant has rolled out some new preferences.
With the new changes, Facebook users cannot unfollow or hide posts, but can pick whose posts are seen first. You can also more easily reconnect with those you previously unfollowed, as well as find suggestions for new pages to explore and like.
According to Facebook, many people wanted the ability to stay current on posts from certain people, something they were unable to do previously. Now, users can select up to 30 accounts to have priority in their News Feeds. These post will always appear at the top of the feed, marked by a star so they are easily recognized as ones picked for priority.
The new discover pages feature is compiled based off of pages users have currently liked, as well as from ones liked by their Facebook friends. This could mean more relatable content being shown to users in their feeds, instead of just ads from large companies.
While the News Feed update is currently only available for iPhone users, it should be rolling out to Android in the near future.
