Coolest Picture-Printing Technology Ever

The excitement is making us giddy. We didn’t know which part to share with you first, so decided to tell you to go to Kickstarter and look at Prynt. It is an iPhone- and Galaxy-compatible case that will print pictures in 30 seconds. The coolest part is the augmented reality portion — we’ll get to that. If you think instant picture printing is not a big deal, consider this. Google just received the patent for a modern-day Polaroid camera. Need we say more?

Years ago, when we had our first child and started snapping pictures, our family wished they had bought stock in Kodak. As times changed and pictures were handles differently, people didn’t print pictures as much. What became popular were websites like Snapfish and Shutterfly, where people would print custom books of their vacation or wedding pictures and display them on the coffee table. Along came Instagram and Facebook, and people started sharing pictures like crazy. Now people want to have a picture to display or frame or put on a bulletin board. At our house, we make weekly trips to Walgreens to pick up the pictures we print.

Our dream is to print pictures instantly from our phone. Now we can! Did we say you can print pictures instantly from your phone? This is the coolest technology we have seen since 3D printers printed a tool in space. The coolest part of Prynt is that “it adds a layer of augmented reality to any photo it takes, so that images aren’t just printed  –– they also move like the paintings and photos in Harry Potter movies whenever you point your phone’s camera at them and view them on your smartphone’s screen.” So cool.

Prynt is already funded at four times their goal. Over 1,587 people jumped on board. We can’t wait to receive ours. Picture taking may never be the same again!
