See something on Twitter that you just have to have? Well, now you won’t have to scour the Internet, or even follow an external link, to find it. Twitter has introduced a “buy” button on mobile.
Twitter made the announcement in a blog post informing users that they can make purchases directly from tweets. Clicking the “buy” button allows the user to enter their payment information and purchase the item with “a few simple clicks.” Your payment information is encrypted and stored by Twitter to make future purchasing even easier.
The buying feature is only available to a few U.S. mobile users so far, but wider rollout will follow in the coming months. A desktop version will also be available soon. Companies signed on so far include Gumroad, Fancy, and Musictoday. In the blog post, Twitter says the list of companies will continue to expand:
“Users will get access to offers and merchandise they can’t get anywhere else and can act on them right in the Twitter apps for Android and iOS; sellers will gain a new way to turn the direct relationship they build with their followers into sales. “
