You come across something in your Facebook feed and think, “I must buy that!” Well, Facebook may be looking to make it a whole lot easier for you to purchase items without ever leaving the site.

At first, Facebook promised it was not going to add a “buy” button to its posts. Now, it seems that there will be a buy button after all. Starting this week, users will begin to see the button for direct purchasing in their Facebook feeds.

The button will be included in those ads we frequently see within our feeds, but it won’t be included in every ad. In a recent blog post, Facebook said, “With this feature, people on desktop or mobile can click the ‘Buy’ call-to-action button on ads and Page posts to purchase a product directly from a business without leaving Facebook.”

Facebook had previously tried a similar purchasing program with its own Facebook currency, but ended it after lackluster response from users. Currently, users can buy gifts for their friends on birthdays or buy other items with Facebook Game Credits.

The buy button would open a whole host of purchasing possibilities to Facebook, as well as make the company even more attractive to advertisers, both mobile and desktop.
