Enfragrow Utilizes Old-Fashioned Marketing Samples

Does anyone remember marketing before Twitter and Facebook? Remember those samples that came in with the newspaper (that printed news source delivered by people in the early hours of the morning)? Some samples arrived today in the mailbox — even more archaic — and caught our attention.

Social media is all about customer engagement, building loyalty, and getting those customers to buy products. Old-fashioned marketing samples bypass these steps and put the product right in the hands of the consumer. Mead Johnson & Company sent some samples of Enfragrow Toddler Transitions to our mailbox along with some $10 coupons. We always say, if you saw $10 on the ground, you’d pick it up, wouldn’t you? So the coupons are quite valuable — much more impressive than 10% off coupons.

As years progress, we learn more about nutrition. We now know that DHA is important to brain development. Enfagrow contains this. It also contains prebiotics. Many of us are familiar with probiotics. But over the past 15 years, we have learned that the colon, and the bacteria in the colon, play a significant role in wellness. Prebiotics are a plant fiber that fertilize the good bacteria in the colon, and enhance wellness. What a gift to give our children when we give them a solid foundation in wellness through DHA and prebiotics.

Sometimes, to stand out from the crowd, you have to do some different marketing. Mailing product samples has become different. We expect most of our communication online. Physically touching products is a great sensory and unique experience these days. However, the challenge with mailing samples is ensuring the mailing database matches the demographic. Mead Johnson wanted their samples to reach a home with a toddler. In our case, we don’t have a toddler, but we will make sure it gets in the hands of a mom friend who does.
