|Advertising for Weed
By: Len Kornblau
Here’s the ultimate irony: advertising agencies creating ads for marijuana.
Everyone who wants to work on those accounts, raise your hands. High! Higher!
Even the Anti-Drug PSAs are pulling away from weed.
That makes sense. It’s legal, but it’s not.
You can’t smoke in public buildings, so research can be tricky.
And while Colorado already has many cool store names with their own proprietary “blends,” what about brand names that can be sold regionally or, eventually, nationally? Imagine the fun of working on THAT assignment.
Yes, things must be buzzing at Denver ad agencies. Imagine when the wave hits southern California. They may not notice the mudslides or brush fires. They may forget the surf’s up!
This could usher in a new age of fun in the ad biz.
