Harry’s Blades Caught Attention on Twitter

Twitter is really a good news source. As some clients work to promote themselves, they continually say that the news media looks to Twitter first. So, for today, Twitter's news feed supplied the inspiration. With all the hype beginning around March Madness, it is important to stay focused on men, so why not focus on men’s faces and shaving?!

It seems there are two types of men — those that shave with electric razors and those that shave with blades and shaving cream. (The type that doesn’t shave at all is just not interesting for this discussion.) Focusing on men that shave with blades and shaving cream is the target for Harry’s.

Harry’s blades boast German engineering. Mind you, we are talking about shaving and not cars. But the Germans seem to know what they are doing with engineering and have made some very fine automobiles — Volkswagen, Audi, BMW, and Mercedes. Harry’s partnered with a company that sold high-end razors to barbers throughout Europe. Now, Harry’s offers quality shaving products to the masses with the differentiation that their shavers offer superior sharpness and strength since they are engineered in Germany.

Performing a little research on what makes a great shave, one of the components turns out to be a high quality non-disposable razor. Competitors include Merkur (also from Germany and again not to be confused with the Mercury Merkur Ford marketed in the late 1980s) and Edwin Jagger DE from England. Apparently the old world knew how to provide a great shave.

You can buy these shaving products direct from Harry’s online and also through J. Crew. Most men may want to try it out themselves, but if you’re willing to take someone else’s word for it, Harry’s shaving products received a thumbs up from About.com’s Dave Alexander. Harry’s is a nice, relatively new quality brand for a reasonable price. Seems like those Twitter ads do work!
