The New Republic Calls Edelman on Its Penn State Role |

Score one for The New Republic, for a piece on Penn State hiring the Edelman PR firm during the miasma of the Jerry Sandusky child abuse scandal. Richard Edelman evidently reached out to a friend, Jeffrey Sonnenfeld, senior associate dean at the Yale School of Management, and last week USA Today ran an op-ed piece by Sonnenfeld under the headline, "Penn State deserves great praise" for its post-outrage handling of the Sandusky affair. While Edelman and Sonnenfeld both dismiss any collaboration on the piece, The New Republic observes, "So there you have it: a little window into the world of high-stakes image-shaping, an endeavor that has become as big a preoccupation in the higher education realm as it has long been in the corporate one..." Good job, guys.
