|Pinterest to Start Selling Advertising

The technologists got a lot of things right. More activities should be streamlined. More people should be interconnected. It feels good to share and relate with a community of like-minded people.
But what many techies neglect is how to generate revenue. Nearly all of them — Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Vine, Instagram, Snapchat — all built killer systems without thinking about making revenue.
It's not a bad thing, but it is definitely something to consider; all those networks that once shunned advertising now accept it as a necessary element.
Now Pinterest is joining the fold.
Pinterest has released that it plans to roll out advertising elements in the next year. According to the report, Pinterest will start with "sponsored pins," and will take it from there.
Pinterest's CEO was quoted saying that they didn't want to rush and that he thinks they are doing it the right way.
Only time will tell.
But this latest revelation again shows the tight relationship AdLand and the tech world can have.
Why can't you like us? We're fun people. Really.
Ah, well. It seems AdLand is the neighborhood friend. We're ignored when you're off having fun, but when you need to be loved, you'll come home.
