With a weekend at hand to get our breath, it's appropriate to reflect on the two epic media changes of the past week — the sale of The Washington Post and The Boston Globe.

At The Harvard Business Review Bill Taylor, cofounder of Fast Company, does that very nicely in a post entitled, "Jeff Bezos, John Henry and the New Reality." What's the new reality?

Taylor cites a few currents, but closes with the example of Bloomberg BusinessWeek "brimming with new energy and confidence under editor Josh Tyrangiel..."

"Yes, technology changes everything it touches." Taylor closes, "But technology is not destiny. Talented leaders, given enough imagination and the right organizational platforms, can respond creatively and effectively to the most challenging circumstances. In fact, that is the defining work of leadership today — unleashing long-lasting, positive change in an environment that moves faster than ever."
