The progress happening in mobile is astounding. When you think that you have the latest and greatest, something else comes out that is supposed to be faster, slicker, and more in tune with what the consumer wants. Mobile, or the "other screen" as people are calling it, is a huge part of people's lives.
Naturally, then, the battle to win consumers is a hard one.
Samsung and Apple have moved their battlefield from the courthouse to advertising, with Samsung notably drawing first blood. With Samsung losing the recent patent lawsuit to Apple, we guess that it wanted to strike first to ease the minds of consumers and boost its own confidence in its technology.
The ad, which takes a direct jab at Apple, is simple, yet powerful. Aptly titled, "It doesn't take a genius," Samsung is relying on the reasoning of the consumer. It lists all the Galaxy S III's capabilities versus the iPhone 5. Of course, it may have been selective in showing what the iPhone 5 can do, but if they did include an exhaustive list, the choice would be pretty simple, depending on what you're looking for.
It will be interesting to see what happens. Apple has developed quite the following for its iPhone. For brands like Samsung to catch up, they really do have to offer better technology and better capability, because in the eyes of the consumer, Apple is the better brand.
Below is the ad.

What are your thoughts? Is Samsung going at this the right way? We've may have talked about this before, but it is always tough to go up against the giant of the industry, even more so when you're fighting on more grounds than logical reasoning. Samsung has to do something drastic to turn over those iPhone junkies, and must put forth a strong effort to draw those on the fence.
