Here are some of the current stories bouncing around the Web on developments in public relations. We're likely to be switching to this "roundup" approach occasionally to be a bit more inclusive in our PR reporting. It's not meant to be an all-inclusive Web digest, hardly.

- The Homes Report is launching a survey on creativity in the PR industry — "Is the PR Industry Creative Enough?" Practitioners are being invited to take the 10-minute online survey as a referendum on how well PR is responding to the challenge of digital media along with older media. Along with the survey, Holmes is starting a showcase for "PR creativity" and "content creation." Admirable initiatives in a time of great PR industry change.

- Karen Ott Mayer offers "Public Relations Tips for Small Businesses" on the Farrell Kramer Communications Blog.

- Dorothy Crenshaw of Crenshaw Communications is warning of "7 Deadly PR Sins or How Not To Be An Amateur. "

- The HandsOn Blog provides guidance on how to "Make Volunteers Your PR Agents."

- PR organizations release guidelines on relating better to Wikipedia. The key point: PR people basically shouldn't edit Wikipedia articles on behalf of clients.

- "Fobbit," by David Abrams, a promising novel on U.S. Army PR during the Iraq war is due out in September.
