Apple's Boost For Visioning

PR people can provide an additional service to clients by being ever-mindful of a client's leadership style and how it might be preserved over time if it's strong or possibly improved if weak. This came to mind in reading a Chief Learning Officer post on how Steve Jobs and his colleagues prepared Apple to continue prospering after his passing.

Of course, not everyone can, or needs to, found an Apple University. But we all can be continually mindful of how we are nurturing ourselves and others to be continually creative people. This isn't counsel for promoting perfection. Steve Jobs himself was mercurial and could be a bear, as Walter Isaccson's excellent biography, "Steve Jobs," makes abundantly clear. But in the discipline of visioning, he probably was unexcelled.

How are your clients doing at visioning? Who's in view to help them, and succeed them, at it? It doesn't hurt to be continually mindful of such key questions, and to try to help with them.
