Curating Lists for PR Clout

What we do to produce Flack Me comes under the heading of "curation." We roam the Web looking for helpful PR-related posts and note them to you. That's a form of curation. More detail can be found in Steven Rosenbaum's excellent (though poorly proofread) McGraw Hill book Curation Nation. Now we find PR Newswire blogging about applying an SEO-related curation technique — "Top Lists" — to Web-based PR. A well-executed campaign, Sarah Skerik, PR Newswire's vice president of social media, notes, "can trigger a waterfall of visibility."

Sarah's "Top Lists" refers to "those irrepressibly popular 'top 5 whatever' lists." She uses the term "snowboarding stunts videos" as an example and explains how building a posting a curated list around the subject can help build a community, increase your visibility, promote personal interaction, and garner other desirable PR-related results. So start dreaming up your lists and curating them on your website!
