Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg and other Silicon Valley tech execs are being fortuitously trained in media relations, while Ketchum, a supposedly worldly-wise PR firm, gets egg on its face for trying to exploit bloggers on behalf of a lasagna-selling client.

The message in both: Be as genuine and forthcoming as possible. The days of being foolhardy in "professional" guise are over. Tell stories, not fibs.
