With social media an ever-increasing factor in PR techniques, it's important to be familiar with strategies and tactics for becoming known on the prime SM outlets, Facebook among them. John Casey on the "Big Marketing for Small Business" blog contributes to that worthy end with the "4Cs to PR Your Facebook Business Page."

Casey, a veteran PR executive, lists his Facebook "Cs" as Command of the issue or topic you handle, a Contest in cooperation with a Facebook partner, a Cause to promote on your Facebook page, and using all three effectively to Connect with ever-growing numbers of Facebook fans. Timely tutelage, indeed.

Of course, the parent PR counterpart of Casey's "4Cs" are the "7Cs," listed in Cutlip, Center, and Broom's classic textbook "Effective Public Relations" as Credibility, Context, Content, Clarity, Continuity and Consistency, Channels, and Capability of audience.
