Helping to keep kids safe online, one click at a time.

In an effort to help keep kids from seeing questionable content online, Kidrex.org is a google powered, kid friendly, search engine. This would be a great alternative for schools that have younger children learning how to use the internet. It will teach them how to find information online, without the constant worry of teachers and parents and what the children might stumble upon.

In addition to Google SafeSearch, KidRex maintains its own database of inappropriate websites. KidRex researchers test KidRex daily to insure that you and your child have the best web experience possible.

I have set the homepage of the kids' computer to Kidrex.org. I also run OpenDNS to prevent visits to or ads about sites I would rather they not be exposed to. It's not a perfect solution, but it's one more tool to help keep kids safe and secure.
