Clooney and DeVito Give Star Power to Nespresso

Danny DeVito and George Clooney star in the commercial for . . . Nespresso. Sometimes star power will capture your audience’s attention and keep you watching to the end. Sometimes star power will be a key success factor in communicating the message of your brand.

George Clooney has star power and when he appears on our screen, we pause and take notice. We enjoy his humor, his good looks, and his delivery. When we saw in the commercial that he was interacting with Danny DeVito, we knew the commercial would be humorous with the combination of those two actors. We didn’t know if it was a movie trailer, a new show, or what it was, but we enjoyed watching to find out. It turns out the commercial was for Nespresso luxury coffee and espresso.

Nespresso is a European chic brewing machine that can brew both coffee and espresso and competes with Keurig. Having DeVito and Clooney behind the brand will definitely help it grab attention. Some people may buy it just for that reason. More people may buy it because they like how it works. Either way, star power is an expensive way to promote the product, but may yield as large of returns.
