There is No Average Girl

On a good day, self-esteem and confidence are high. We live by the mantras: We are loved. Things always work out for us. We aspire to be better each day and take inspiration and motivation wherever we can find it. As we were looking through a fashion magazine, we saw a fabulous three-page ad for Keds.

The first page featured Taylor Swift in navy slip-on Keds with the statement, “There’s No Such Thing As An Average Girl.” We agree. In our household, we celebrate uniquenesses. We turned the magazine page. The next Keds ad featured a dark-haired model in tan leather pull-on Keds with the statement, “All Dressed Up with Everywhere To Go.” We liked that too. It made us feel energetic and powerful. The third Keds ad featured a laughing blonde in a bling skirt and white Keds with the statement, “It’s Not a Running Shoe. It’s a Run the World Shoe.” Now after seeing the third ad, we are fist-bumping, oh-yeah-ing and ready to take on the world. How did they do that?

The three consecutive ads made for a strong statement. They primed us, then they inspired us, then they sent us out into the world with a strong breeze at our backs. This type of ad supports what other companies have put out into the market changing the female dynamic in the world. Who would have thought we could have gotten that from this shoe company?

We liked the variety of Keds shoes we saw in the ads. We liked the marketing statements. We think that we like Keds.
