It’s safe to say that Ellen DeGeneres is more than just a mere celebrity. Actor, writer, producer, TV talk show host — and that’s just skimming the surface. What can’t this woman do?

Although her rise to popularity can be credited, in part, to her dancing shoes and quirky comic talents on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, DeGeneres is no stranger to hard work. With this dedication and a certain amount of risk-taking, she turns her passions into fruitful career paths.

If you haven’t heard, DeGeneres has been busy adding to her resume. With her recent launch of ED, her new e-commerce site that houses her fashion and home line along with Ellen’s Design Challenge (which airs on HGTV) you should probably start taking notes.

So, if you’re keeping score, DeGeneres wants to decorate your home, launch you into the next interior design star, and provide you with the clothes on your back, all while making you laugh, of course.

There is much to learn from the Ellen DeGeneres megabrand. She has talked about her long-time passion for design and interior decorating along with the failures that helped pave the way to success.

DeGeneres is just one example of finding what you’re passionate about and using hard work and determination to build a brand or lifestyle (or both!). Oh, and lest we forget — a little risk-taking goes a long way.
