Maybe Instagram Can Get You a Book Deal

The joke at our house is that if the source is Instagram, you should verify it again. That’s about the extent of how often I view Instagram. The teenagers in our house love it, and many others do too. Many people on Instagram love the couple who have been photographed around the world holding hands. They have wowed the Internet masses with their love story and even gotten a book deal. Who knew Instagram could achieve that!

Stories with pretty pictures and stories with happy endings are precious. Moscow-based Murray Osmann, a photographer, and his then-girlfriend and now wife, Natalia Zakharova, have presented a wonderful pictorial story. In the photos, she is reaching back for his hand as he snaps pictures in some of the most beautiful places around the world. At one time she reached back not to find his hand, but a ring, and so the engagement began. They also photographed their wedding and shared it in similar style via Instagram.

The point of all this? People love pictures. People love a good story. Osmann and Zakharova used Instagram beautifully to share their work and tell a story that captivated many. How can you use Instagram for your product or brand and get the emotional connection and following that these two did?
