Once again, Apple is winning over the hearts of technology users all around. The unveiling of the new Apple MacBook in gold instantly had the Internet talking, tweeting, posting, reposting, and sharing. #NewMacBook immediately became a Trending Topic on Twitter. Memes of the gold MacBook were instantly generated on Instagram. The social sphere wastes no time.

Not only is the gold MacBook the first of its kind in the new color, it also boasts a brand new redesign. It is thinner and lighter than ever — only two pounds!

While the keyboard remains full-size, the keys are 40% thinner and employ a “butterfly mechanism” rather than the traditional scissors mechanism. In other words, the foundation underneath the keys looks more like butterfly wings moving in an up-and-down motion as compared to a crisscross motion. One reviewer compares it to using a touchscreen device, stating there is virtually no movement.

Other improvements on the new MacBook include a thinner retina display, a redesigned trackpad, a single USB jack, and an all-day battery.

Available for shipment on April 10, the MacBook also comes in metallic silver and space gray with a starting retail price of $1,299.

Hurry up, Apple enthusiasts; get them before they’re gone! PC users, now might be the time to make the big switch over.
