In this world of rushing to get around and get ahead, Penzey’s spices promotes their brand with kindness. Metropolitan billboard ads read “Love People. Cook them tasty food.”

Penzey’s Spices sells over 250 herbs, seasoning blends, and spices from retail stores, mail order, and online shopping. For people who love to cook and offer love through food, Penzey’s is a great way to enhance your cooking. Many people associate good food with holidays, yet good food can be an everyday occurrence.

At first it seems a little weak to have the message be about love and kindness, yet that is really what food portrays. Food is a way to recharge, reconnect with family and friends, and get a reprieve from anything in life that is unhappy. Food is a positive, loving, happy way to spend a part of each and every day. To make food more tasty with the Bangkok Blend, BBQ 3001, Bratwurst Sausage Seasoning (the company is Milwaukee based), or Parisien Bonne Herbes is an expression of love and kindness.

The company still has an old-world feel to it, which is evident from their website, their Facebook page, and their existent but unused Twitter page. Some customers feel their spice selection rivals any spice market from the Middle East. Now Penzey’s just needs some good promotional relationships, and enhanced customer relationship management through social media, to spread love and kindness and turn it into more sales.
